Stunning antique pair of bamboo brush pots, 30cm high & finely carved

Pair of antique original Chinese bamboo brush pots dating. From the Late 19th to Early 20th Centuries. They have a lovely colour and patina. These are particularly fine examples with very detailed carvings of figures (scholars) in a bamboo forest in the top half of the pots, with further figures inside and outside a pagoda surrounded by large trees in the bottom half. The work is so intricate that a number of the bamboo trunks are carved all the way round and are only attached to the rest of the carving at their tops and bases.

You would be hard pushed to find better examples of carving on brush pots than this pair. Size: 30 cm height x 13 cm diameter (max). Condition: The brush pots are in excellent undamaged condition. There are a number of small shrinkage cracks, as you would expect, but none of these go all the way through.
